1. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of this website and to any quote request you submit through it. By using the site or submitting the quote form, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

This website is operated by Local Rebate, trading as Local Solar Quotes, registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under reference ZC107920. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Local Solar Quotes.

2. What our service is

We run a free quote-comparison service for UK homeowners. When you complete our form, we use your answers to identify up to three MCS-certified solar installers who cover your area, and we pass your details to them so they can contact you with a quote.

Our service is free to you. You are under no obligation to accept any quote, and you can stop the process at any point.

3. What we are not

• We are not an installer and we do not carry out surveys, design or installation work.
• We do not supply solar panels, batteries, inverters or any other equipment.
• We do not provide financial, tax, legal or energy advice, and nothing on this site should be treated as such advice.
• We are not an agent of the installers in our network, and they are not our agents.

4. Who can use the service

To use our quote service you must be:

• Aged 18 or over;
• Resident in the United Kingdom;
• The owner of the property the quote relates to, or authorised by the owner to request quotes for it.

Solar panels are installed on the property you own, so quotes are only available to homeowners. If you tell us you rent or live with family, we will not be able to match you with installers.

5. Your information must be accurate

You agree that the information you give us is true, accurate and complete, and that you will let us know if it changes. Inaccurate information may lead to quotes that do not reflect what an installer can actually offer, and we are not responsible for that.

6. Being contacted

By submitting the form you agree that we may pass your details to up to three MCS-certified installers, and that they may contact you by phone, email or text about your enquiry. Calls may be recorded by the installer for training and quality purposes.

You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time by emailing privacy@localsolarquotes.co.uk. To stop an installer contacting you, please tell that installer directly.

7. Savings figures and estimates

Any savings figures, payback periods, prices or performance estimates shown on this site — including headline figures such as “save up to £3,200” — are illustrative examples only. They are not a quote, an offer or a guarantee.

What you actually save depends on your property, roof orientation and shading, your energy use, your tariff, the system specification, export rates and future energy prices. Your actual price and expected savings are confirmed by an installer after a free survey.

References to grants, incentives and rates such as 0% VAT reflect our understanding at the time of publication. Schemes and eligibility rules change, and you should confirm current details with your installer or the relevant scheme.

8. Contracts with installers

Any contract for a survey, supply or installation is made directly between you and the installer. We are not a party to it.

• Pricing, workmanship, timescales, warranties and guarantees are the installer’s responsibility.
• Your cancellation rights, deposit terms and payment terms are set by the installer’s own contract — read it before you sign.
• We check that installers in our network hold MCS certification, but we do not supervise their work and do not guarantee their performance.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading or third-party details without permission;
• Use the site for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system;
• Use automated tools to scrape, copy or overload the site;
• Introduce viruses or other malicious code.

We may refuse or withdraw access to our service where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.

10. Site availability

We aim to keep the site available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, withdraw or change all or part of the site without notice, for example for maintenance or improvements.

11. Intellectual property

The content of this site — including text, layout, graphics and logos — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You may view and print pages for your own personal use, but you may not reproduce, republish or commercially exploit any part of the site without our written permission. Third-party brand names and logos remain the property of their owners.

12. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Subject to that, and because our service is provided to you free of charge:

• We are not liable for the acts, omissions, workmanship, pricing or conduct of any installer;
• We are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on illustrative savings figures or other general information on this site;
• We are not liable for business losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity or indirect or consequential loss;
• We do not warrant that the site or its content is error-free or complete.

If you are a consumer, this does not affect your statutory rights.

13. Complaints

If you are unhappy with our service, email privacy@localsolarquotes.co.uk and we will look into it and respond as quickly as we can.

Complaints about a survey, a quote or an installation should be raised with the installer first, under its own complaints procedure. MCS-certified installers are also covered by a consumer code, and their contract will tell you which one and how to escalate.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment you use the site is the one that applies. Please check back before submitting a new enquiry.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
